Yes. A mortar bed can be installed in the recessed area created by KERDI-SHOWER-FRS in lieu of a KERDI-SHOWER prefabricated foam tray as per the Schluter-Shower System Installation Handbook. Demonstration of this method can be found in our installation videos.
